We held the first themed event of the Horticultural Joy series on 2 and 9 December 2023, initiating the Alcohol Ink Art Workshop at the Chan Fuk Sing Resource Centre.
Candy, an instructor trained in alcohol ink painting, taught members the knowledge and techniques of alcohol ink art. Participants learned various skills under the instructor’s guidance, creating unique designs such as freely swimming goldfish, vibrant flowers, warm suns, and Christmas wreaths using their creativity and ideas.
Alcohol ink art differs from conventional art forms as it lacks preliminary sketches and complete control over ink flow, resembling life experiences where we cannot always predict the next moment’s circumstances. Just as in art, where unexpected ink drops may initially seem destructive but can blend with existing artwork to create a new feeling, life’s unexpected events, though frustrating, can lead to new perspectives with a step back or a change in viewpoint.
The Horticultural Joy series offers not only varied gardening and art activities but also relaxation, improved moods, and a sense of happiness. Members who missed this event or were not selected can seize opportunities to sign up for future activities.
