Soon after taking up their posts, Wong Tai Sin of the Social Welfare Department and Ms Tang Miu-shun, Assistant District Social Welfare Officer of Sai Kung, visited different social welfare organisations in the district to learn more about their work and exchange ideas.

Accompanied by Social Work Officer Ms. Karen Law Ka Ling and Assistant Social Work Director Ms. Heidi Ng Ming Yan, Officer Tang, along with representatives from the Wong Tai Sin and Sai Kung District Welfare Office, visited RAHK on 9 August 2023, hoping to gain insight into our work and services and engage in in-depth discussions. Member Jenny Lo Man Chun, along with General Secretary William Chan Hei Lung and Senior Project Officer Wilson Lau Kwok Lam, welcomed the representatives from the Wong Tai Sin & Sai Kung District Social Welfare Office at the Chan Fuk Sing Resource Centre.

We shared our ongoing work and key projects, particularly highlighting our services and special programs supporting individuals with disabilities during the pandemic and post-pandemic recovery phases. Furthermore, we discussed the increased need for physical activities and emotional support for individuals with disabilities post-pandemic. We proactively review and plan new services or programs to address societal needs.

They engaged in extensive discussions and exchanges with us, expressing their support for our principles and work. They expressed a desire for us to continue providing suggestions to the department to improve service planning, resource allocation, community engagement, and more.
