He highlighted that the core elements of the session involve all opinions and sharing coming from the community. It is essential to be inclusive, respectful, and attentive to others, even when holding differing views, to facilitate constructive discussions that drive positive policy impacts and improvements.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The spirit of community listening emphasises:<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Appreciating differences<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Respecting diversit<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Working together for mutual benefit<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Members engaged in discussions on various topics such as:<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Planning and allocation of medical resources<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Management and support for public housing<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Employment support and services for persons with disabilities<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Signage and guidance for major community facilities<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Awareness and understanding of officials towards persons with disabilities<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Accessibility standards and regulations lagging behind societal needs<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Traditional Chinese medicine support and services for persons with disabilities<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The community listening session was conducted in a hybrid format &#8211; both in-person and online. While the number of participating members was not large, there were extensive discussions, and we gained valuable insights into members&#8217; viewpoints on different issues.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We plan to continue organising similar activities in the future to encourage member participation.
